So these aren't all the pictures I have, but my mom couldn't figure out how to email the rest to me. So I will have to post the rest later.
So the race started about 30 minutes late because for some reason they didn't put anyones timing chip in with their packet so when we got to the race we all had to wait in line to get them. all 500 of us or so...it took a little while. Other than that is was a pretty well put on race especially for their first year doing it. I didn't quite reach my time goal but I still felt like I did better than last year because I was able to run the entire time even up hills, and I didn't stop at all the aid stations like I used to. So my time was about 2 hours and 20 min which is the same as last years, the difference was last year I went out fast for the first 8 or 9 miles because it was a lot of down hill then it got hot and the down hills turned to up hills and I totally died and ended up walking a ton of the last 3 or 4 miles. This year it was a different race course and it was pretty flat throughout the race and a few short steep up hills towards the end. It didn't get hot either in fact it was cold and super windy and the wind was blowing against us for the first 5 miles that was pretty brutal. But I felt better throughout the race and kept a steady pace the whole time. So even though my time was the same I felt like I did a lot better and even had enough to sprint in at the end. My friend from work Brett(a girl) also ran it with us and it was her first, but she is way faster than I am and beat me in by about 20 min. She is awesome! And I was so excited that she and my other friend from work Destiny and my parents and champ were all there to cheer us on at the end. Thanks guys your great! My next race will either be the SLC half or full marathon on April 19 or the Ogden Full marathon in May. I haven't decided yet. You can never make a good decision on something like that when you are still sore from your last race. I am hoping just in case we end up having to move away this summer that I can do a full before we go, so well see if I can get ready in time.
