Eventful Week in DC

I know that compared to Hurricane Ike Hannah wasn't that spectacular, but it was the first hurricane we have ever been in. It wasn't the biggest storm I have ever seen and I didn't think there would be any damage but I guess there was quite a bit of flooding in certain areas and a huge branch broke off this tree in front of our building.

This weekend Abe and I volenteered at Hoops for the Homeless held in the Verizon center in DC.

We maned a tattoo table for 2 hours. This doesn't sound hard but it was extremely frustrating at times. They were those tattoos that you put on with water. They were supposed to be for the kids but a ton of adults wanted them too and they would swarm the table instead of waiting in line. We tried to have the adults put them on themselves but many of them could not grasp the instructions and we would end up doing it for them anyway.

Magic Johnson was there but I didn't see him.

The best part of the day was when Abe used the restroom. He went in and there was a woman in there cleaning, he thought it was strange she was in there and also noticed a lack of urinals, but he ignored his hesitation and went to the bathroom. When he came out he looked up and I followed his gaze to see the womans restoom sign! We died laughing!

First of all... adults were not competent enough to put a tattoo on? That is hilarious and.. that is so hilarious about Abe going into the women's bathroom. I can only imagine what the cleaning lady was thinking... but, why didn't she say something to him!? haha!

That was so nice of you two to volunteer! I would die laughing too if my husband went to the restroom with a cleaning lady inside with him :)

Meg, thanks for the reminder about the fish! I totally didn't even think about that. I'll just have to stick with Magleby's chocolate cake I guess!
