We had a very full apartment this past week! My mom flew out to visit us for a week and Adam and Ammon came to stay with us for the weekend. It was so fun to have so many visitors. Friday night we all ate at a great Indian restaurant in DC. The next morning we went to Freddie Mac to see where Abe works and then we moved into DC for site seeing. We went to the Library of Congress and we all got library cards, then we went to Georgetown University for lunch. After Georgetown we went to Arlington National Cemetery to visit section 60. This is where all of the soldiers who were killed in Iraq are laid to rest. It was an emotional thing to see the new graves. The hardest thing to see were the dates of some of the headstones, some were as early as a month ago. Many of the grave stones had pictures of the soldiers with their families... that was definitely a tear-jerker. It really makes this war feel real. After Adam and Ammon left Sunday afternoon, we drove through the Shenandoah valley. It was very pretty, but I still like the Alpine loop better. For the rest of the week I played tour guide with my mom and showed her all of the sites. We took tours at the Capital, the Supreme Court, and the George Washington Memorial. We walked around and saw every memorial and saw a little bit of almost every museum, it was great!
