Can you believe it has been a month? They are getting big so fast. We went to the doctor this week because Jefferson has a really horrible diaper rash that makes me so sad every time I change him and Jace has acid reflux. To make it worse, it is all my fault! We ate meals with tomato sauce in them 5 days in a row and on a few days I ate left overs for lunch so I ate it multiple times in one day, not thinking about the acidity level in tomato sauce. I gave them both diaper rash because of the acidity level in their milk. I feel so bad. Jace's has pretty much cleared up but we are going on 8 days since it started and poor Jefferson's is looking as bad as ever. If you have any recommendations for clearing up diaper rash please tell me, I am desperate!
Anyway, onto happier news. Despite their acid reflux, both babies are growing really well. In 2 weeks Jace went from being in the 15th percentile to the 50th percentile and Jefferson went from the 25th to the 75th!
It's a real trick to get a picture of both babies at the same time where they are both looking happy. Out of probably 15 pictures I took of this set up, here is the only one that worked out where both babies were happy together. (Jace is on the left and Jefferson is on the right.)
This is my favorite picture of Jefferson because it is totally a representation of how he is, fat and happy.
This is unfortunately a pretty good representation of how Jace is too, super strong and fussy. Although when he is happy he is the cutest wide eyed curious little baby you've ever seen.
These are the sweet blessing outfits my Aunt Janet made for the boys. We wanted to get a good picture of them in them to send to her. We again had a hard time getting a picture of them both looking happy. It seemed like just as you get one happy the other gets sad...
Victory!
I am just so in love with these two boys!

Oh wow! They look wonderful!!
Do you think Jefferson will turn out to be harder when he's older and Jace will end up the easy one? ;-)
About the diaper rash--we tried lots of things with Fiona. The only thing that consistently worked for us was Balmex brand diaper cream (the regular kind). It's weird but that brand worked SO much better than any other brand (Desitin, expensive other ones). So maybe try different diaper cream brands to see which one works for your boys. The other thing -- we used Pampers Swaddlers diapers--again that seemed to work for us best. Of course every baby is different so you'll have to see what works for you. Congrats on surviving 1 month! Fiona sends her love.
Meg...my friend had preemie twins that always had bad diaper rash and her dr had her mix liquid maalox and aquaphor together to make a paste and it worked really well. Hope something helps I know how bad you feel when they have that.
I love how you documented the 1 month photo. We took pics of our kid w/a stuffed animal (same on each month) so that we could really see how they grew month to month. I have a friend who still takes the birthday photo w/stuffed animal of her 13 year old.
Your boys are looking so cute! My kids haven't had many bad diaper rashes but Deacon had one really bad one when he was really young and aquaphor cleared it up really fast. I hope you figure something out!
they are seriously the cutest babies!! I want to squeeze and kiss them so badly. The best thing I found for diaper rash is butt paste and naked time.. even a little sunshine naked time.. although, it's probably too cold there ;) what darling blessing outfits too.. sigh. they are great.
Those blessings jumpers are PRECIOUS! Your aunt did an amazing job. They are so cute, Meg. Those little feet look so soft! I can't believe how much they've grown in one short month!
