They made it. Everyone told me that around 3 months old things should start getting easier and they were so right!
Jefferson now weighs a whopping 15 lbs! He still has acid reflux but he is obviously holding enough down to gain weight like a champ. He smiles all the time and now laughs out loud and it is the sweetest thing. He loves everyone and is just so happy whenever he gets attention.
Jace is keeping up with his weight at a healthy 13 lbs. He is smiling more often and just the other day I got him to laugh for the first time and it was so cute! Of course he refused to smile for the camera. He is very inquisitive and is always looking around with his big blue eyes.
They are beginning to notice each other more and are interested in one another. At 11 weeks we decided it was time for them to sleep in their own room and learn to fall a sleep on their own. It was a tough first night. We put Jace to sleep in the crib for the first time and we have kept Jefferson in his car seat still because he spits up so much and it helps if he is more veridical.
That first night Jace cried so much he was horse the next day. It was hard to listen to him cry but it was so worth it because ever since he only cries sometimes when we put them to bed and if he does it's never more then 30 minutes. Jefferson has never cried for more then 10 minutes, even the first night. He has always been a great sleeper. Another amazing break through happened about 3 nights after we starting letting them fall a sleep on their own. Jace had still been waking up every 3 to 4 hours but suddenly he began sleeping for 6 to 7 hours for the first half of the night! It has been like that ever since. I have been in heaven getting 8 hrs a night!
Jefferson loves watching Baby Einstein videos. He will sit and watch it from start to finish and sometimes he will even watch it twice in a row before he gets board with it. I love finding things that keep their attention and keeps my hands free.
They still love their activity mat. It is the best purchase we have made so far. It has a little mirror and Jace is just fascinated with himself and stares at it for really long periods of time and makes goofy smiles and noises at himself. It is hilarious!
They are getting big so fast. They are going to be too big for their 6 month old clothes pretty soon. We just love watching these boys learn everyday. The next big hurdle will be getting Jace to nap somewhere other than on me so I can get more done during the day.
