So I almost forgot about my adventure to the emergency room, that is why I am looking so hot in this picture haha.
The Saturday before we left UT my dad took Abe and I golfing. We were out there from about 7 am till about 12:30 pm. While on the course I drank a lot and stayed under the shade of the cart when I wasn't playing. We got home and ate lunch together, we all ate the same things. (There is a point to all of this extra information) Anyway...after lunch Abe left and my parents left so I took a shower and started to do my hair. While I was getting ready I began to get a head ache. It started just like any other headache, so I took 2 extra strength Tylenols and drank a bottle of water just in case I was dehydrated. I continued to do my hair and after about 30 min. the head ache hadn't gone away and it was getting worse! I drank a lemonade and another bottle of water and laid down. Still nothing was working. It had now been an hour since I had taken the Tylenol and it had gotten worse and worse, so I decided to take one more to see if it would help. Well it didn't! I tried sitting in my mom's massage chair to see if I was just tense but it made it worse again, now I was feeling nauseous. I laid down and called Abe for him to come home. I seriously thought I was going to die. By the time Abe got there it hurt so much I didn't want to open my eyes, move at all or talk. He tried to rub my neck but it didn't help, finally I rushed to the bathroom where I threw up. It was awful.
Abe gave me a blessing and for some reason having the weight of his hands on my head relieved some of the pain. So there we were sitting by the toilet, me crying on the floor with Abe's hands on my forehead. After awhile my headache started to go away. We decided to go down stairs where it was darker. By the time we got down stairs I had to rush to through up again. This is where it gets weird.
After throwing up my head ache went away. I went in our room and fell asleep. Meanwhile I was missing the good bye party thrown for us by some friends that I was totally looking forward to. I woke up around 8:00 and my head ache was totally gone. I was still a little nervous to eat anything though so I watched a movie with my parents and nibbled on some soda crackers and sipped water. Around 10 my head ache was coming back. It was just like before, and by the time Abe got home I was in the bathroom feeling like I would through up again.
I was not about to go through this again, so we all packed up into the car are drove to the ER. At the Hospital they gave me an IV with fluids, some pain medication, and a sleeping aid. I remember getting the shot, but I really don't remember much after that it was good stuff it only took about 2 minutes till I was asleep. I was out cold while my sweet husband and my tired loving parents waited till about 3 am for them to get the results and discharge us. Apparently I got a cat scan too but I don't remember that. I vaguely remember them taking out the IV because it hurt like crazy!
This is my arm 3 days later, I think she did something funny with that IV don't you? Well I will take that over the head ache any day.
I just thought it was weird that my headache and nausea went away and then came back. It sounds more like food poisoning or something to me but I didn't eat anything all day that someone else didn't eat with me, and no one else got sick. So tell me what you think, was this just a typical migraine or do you think it was something else?

So thats why you missed the party! We all thought you were pregnant and throwing up. :) Sorry about your headache though, that sounded pretty miserable.
I'm sorry, that sounds awful! And it's a shame you had to miss your own party. However I think we have had the same nurse giving us ivs, That is exactly how my hand looked after I had Makenzie.
Morning sickness from carrying an alien baby?
Meg...it sounds like a migraine to me. I hope you feel better soon!
Good luck with the move. Sounds like it will be so great! I am excited for you. Have fun, and post all the fun things you are doing! We are taking our 9 year old on a trip to DC, New York and Philly in October. You will have to let me know all the **must sees!**
I invited you to our blog a while ago, but you never accepted it. I don't know if I had your correct email address?
Let me know if you want an invite...

you did not have to make up such an elaborate story for skipping out on the BBQ. Sorry about the brusies and the flat tire. The police escort was a nice touch.
Im so sorry Meg! What you have described sounds exactly like what would happen to me pretty frequently about a year or so ago. I wish I could tell you what it was from, but we never figured it out either. I would black out and go totally deaf when the headache would come on and then after throwing up my sight and hearing would come back. We thought it might be from low blood sugar... it eventually went away and I hope yours does too! P.S. i miss you and your amazing hair style/cutting abilities!
